Qatar Airways Business Class Review — Q Suite, A380, 787
Reviewed by Andrew Willcox, ATraveller. Rating: 8/10. Qatar Airways Q Suite is one of the best business class products in the sky, with outstanding hardware and excellent dining. The Al Mourjan Business Lounge at Hamad International Airport, Doha, is one of the finest business class lounges in the world — à la carte dining, gym, shower suites with Diptyque amenities, and a spectacular water feature. The Q Suite itself features a closing door, double bed option, dine-on-demand service, caviar, and Billecart-Salmon champagne. The main weakness is crew consistency — service quality varies significantly by route and crew. Key routes reviewed include London Heathrow to Doha, Doha to Ho Chi Minh City, Doha to Atlanta, Doha to Hong Kong, Doha to Brisbane, and Doha to Phuket. Qatar Airways Business Class
Overview
Qatar Airways is the business class that everyone instantly recognises when they see the Q Suite, and raves about following their first flight. That being said — speaking to people with a few more years of experience, they said to me prior to my first flight: "oh it's hit or miss, depends on the crew." After my first few flights, and beyond the glamour of the Q Suite, I can see how that opinion holds true.
The Lounges
Al Mourjan Business Lounge — Hamad International Airport, Doha
The Al Mourjan lounge at Hamad International is one of the finest business class lounges in the world, and a compelling reason to connect through Doha. The sheer scale of it is immediately striking — a vast, cathedral-like space with the iconic water feature running through its centre and floor-to-ceiling views of the terminal beyond.

The dining offering is genuinely restaurant-quality, served à la carte with a full menu and wine list. Breakfast here has become one of my more anticipated parts of any Qatar connection. The lounge also features a gym — modest but well equipped for a transit facility — and shower suites with Diptyque amenities.

The Garden Lounge — Hamad International Airport, Doha
Separate from Al Mourjan, The Garden is a newer, lighter lounge situated under the terminal's famous indoor trees. It has a more casual feel — ideal for a coffee and a light bite before a shorter hop. It's a pleasant space, though clearly a step below Al Mourjan in ambition and offer.

LHR Lounge
Qatar's lounge at Heathrow is shared with oneworld partners and varies in quality depending on time of day. Dining is available and the space is well presented — though it doesn't quite match the grandeur of what awaits in Doha.

The Verdict
"Qatar Airways offers some of the most impressive hardware in the sky — particularly the Q Suite, which remains a benchmark for business class design. The lounges in Doha are world-class. But the experience is defined by crew, and crew consistency is the airline's Achilles heel. When it is good, it is very good. When it is not, the product around it can feel hollow. Book smart — confirm your aircraft type, know the seat configuration, and understand your rights."
